Evaluation of Serum Levels of Vitamin D in Patients with Vitiligo: A Case-Control Study

Introduction: Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease that caused by the destruction of melanocytes and appeared as depigmented patches on skin mucosa. There have been various reports serum Vitamin D levels in patients with vitiligo. The present study aimed to Evaluation Material Methods: A case-control was performed 138 samples among people referring Sabzevar Vasei clinic period 2018-2019. research units meeting inclusion criteria were selected using convenience sampling then divided into two group case control (69 69 healthy people). After obtaining informed consent completing checklist demographic characteristics, blood taken from both groups evaluated compared. Data analyzed SPSS 20 via independent t-test, chi-square test, Mann-Whitney Spearman correlation at a significance level less than 0.01. Results: In total, 131 participants completed study; did not differ significantly terms age nor gender. At end study, mean lower vitiligo without (P <0.001).
